It lets you keep a watchful eye on your home and loved ones, and acts as a visual deterrent to potential intruders. Security cameras are used to monitor an area for security purposes. They are available in wireless or hard -wired options. The footage from the camera may be reviewed continuously to look for potential security breaches or examined after a criminal action or situation.
Before getting a CCTV system it is worth thinking about the following questions
• Would I like remote access to my CCTV images?
• What do I want my CCTV camera to view and record? (this could be the front door, a parking space, the back yard, a shed etc)
How can you use the information?
You should make sure that the information recorded is used only for the purpose for which your system was installed (for example it will not be appropriate to share any recordings on social media sites)
After installation you should consider the following
It should be checked regularly to make sure that it is working properly (this may include cleaning any debris affecting the camera and wiping it down after bad weather).
You should also check the position of your camera from time to time to make sure it still captures the right images and does not overlook someone else’s property or public space, such as walk ways. Alarmco offer an annual service to keep your system in optimal performance.
